Our story of buying with an advocate

We used a buyer advocate out of curiosity and now we'll never buy a property without one.
Our story of buying with an advocate

Hi, I'm on the right in the picture above.

I live in Melbourne, and we recently bought a property we really like thanks to a buyer advocate.

We saved about the buyer advocate fee (~$10k), and they negotiated the sale.

That was after 3 months of helping us find and assess other properties.

Friends were baffled when I told them we were using a buyer advocate.

Most told me it was a waste of money.

However, seeing and hearing the insight and witnessing the professional skills, I'm even more convinced that people buying a home could benefit from getting a real estate professional on their side.

It was obvious as inexperienced buyers that real estate agents didn't care about our situation, they care about the vendor.

Having a professional that can see the opportunities and negotiate, bid and manouver was a big advantage.

Not only when dealing with the vendor or their professional agents, but when competing against other buyers.

Especially at auction, which every seller in Melbourne seems to have a go at first.
